Pacha

Ferdinand Cayeux by Rene Cayeux 1947

TB. Late bloom season. Color Class-S9L.

Note the color variations from year to year on the same plant. Both photographs from Presby Iris Gardens two years apart. 2016 was unusually hot in iris bloom time, reaching the 90’s. The iris from 2014 was from a cooler spring. The photo differences are not due to lighting, but to temperature conditions. This iris was brought to USA c 2009 from a rescure conducted by Julian Browse of a French Collection. It was not known to be growing in the USA previously. Curiously, it is a very good grower in this country, blooms easily and makes great increase. Similar in coloring to Grand Canyon, but no pbf and different bloom shape.
