TB. Midseason bloom. Color Class S3L
Note: This iris does not match the description of either Cayeux Catalog 1931 ” This new variety throwing stems 3 1/2 feet tall bearing enormous flowers. The standards are lavender suffused lilac. The falls spreading almost horizontally amaranthine rose paling off gradually to light lavender at the margin.” Or the AIS color chart description of S3L (Blended , pink to red toned bicolor light).
Note from the Webmaster: We have downgraded the vetting code to ‘X’ (DNFD) for the time being, after a discrepancy has been pointed out by one of our members, but the photographed iris definitely appears to have too much yellow in it, although I can see some lavender in the falls. Normally I would not post such a picture, but since it was posted, in case anyone has received incorrect information from this website, we will continue to keep the listing on the gallery for a short time with this caveat: Unless additional information can be presented to support that this iris has been described incorrectly by AIS or its hybridizer it will be removed soon. Sorry about that.
