From Cooley’s 1952 and 1956 Catalog: “Ruffled dark rosy amethyst; a very strong and bright splash of color in the garden. The falls carry rather prominent veins of darker tone. A self, borne on heavy, welll branched stalks, just slightly under 3′ in height”.
