From Lloyd Austins’s 1965 Catalog, “Lloyd Austin’s WorldFamous Iris Color Guidebook”.
Outstanding for size and its deep mysterious coloring. A large flower with a spread of 6″. Standards reddish amethyst; falls large, very rounded, velvety blackish crimson, with striking creamy white beards. Very novel, completely unlike any other re-bloomer. Reblooms in Oct and Nov and on into winter when climate permits. Pollen plentiful (Russian Bronze x April Showers)
