From Walter Marx Gardens catalog for 1956: “Like a fine engraving or etching here is a Marhigo with precise clear cut features unmatched by any iris, except, perhaps some of the oncocyclus clan. The frilly white flowers enveloped by a network of sharp well defined veins of deepest (Pansy) blue, and the large tufted centers of deepest Royal Purple tipped white altogether create contrasts to the greatest extreme. The double 6- to 7-inch flowers are exceptionally ruffled for this type. 3½ to 4 feet. Mideason.”
