From Schreiner’s Iris Lovers Catalog 1955: “For years Wabash has remained one of the outstanding examples in the amoena class. With the creation of Gaylord additional lustre has been added to this popular class. Below we have illustrated this iris of pure white standards and velvety, deep violet blue falls. The flower is large, fully three times the size of Wabash, and an outstanding star indeed.”
