From Neubert’s Flower Garden catalog for 1968: “This large beautifully finished flower has been a favorite with almost every garden visitor, also a favorite of ours. The closed standards are antique bronze infused olive, and the broad flaring falls are plum purple with violet infusion, and a deeper violet blaze below the dark bronze beard. A touch of chocolate in falls at haft enhances its beauty. The lightly ruffled flowers are long lasting. The stalks are strong and well branched.”
