IB 10-28″

Bluish violet with light yellow beard, great branching.

Note: A naturally occurring tetraploid species allied to aphylla. These tet species need much more investigation than they’ve received, and there is a crying need for more collecting in the Balkans, Greece, and Turkey. With a bit more research this species may turn out to be a geographic variant of aphylla. – Phil Edinger

Provenance: Image I photo taken at Wildwood Gardens (Will Plotner) 2006 at the AIS Convention.
