From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1946: “We think this is one of the most colorful and fiery blends that we have seen. It is a sort of flame-copper, with salmon shadings, and the beards and central areas are a mass of brilliant burnt orange. Large flowers; the standards upright and well closed, the falls broad and distinctly flaring. Increases fast and makes a gorgeous clump.”

(Sdlg. #268 X Prairie Sunset), HM 1947.
