From Cayeux et LeClerc’s catalog for 1927: “A small flowered variety of free blooming character and of quite unknown coloring amongs(t) Irises. S. reddish brown with yellow sheen toning deeper at the margins, the whole overlaid straw-yellow with a purplish reflex. F. of the same colouring but deeper, striated mauve on white ground at the base; strong apparent yellow beard.”
Light rose heavily veined darker rose, and blended with yellow at the heart. Golden beard.
