From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s Catalog for 1989: “Delightful in its charm and distinction, Lilac Wine is another superb bicolor coming to us from Australia. Our photograph on page 53 shows lavender-lilac standards with deeper beige tones at the midribs. Yellowish orange beards enliven the centers of the velvety maroon-plum falls. Two to three sturdy stems per clump display moderately sized flowers.”
