1929 45″

From Carl Salbach Catalog 1929: “The dark, bronzed red-violet flowers, the deeper and velvety falls distinctly edged with the lighter shade of the standards as in Monsignor, are of good size, form and substance and borne on well but closely branched stems 45 inches high. Our first introduction where Bruno is one parent, it brings new characteristics to the Dominion race. Sold only in sets this year. If stock permits it will be offered separately in 1930 at .10.00 each.”

From Robert Wayman Rare Iris and Peony Catalog 1936: “Deep bronzed red violet  with velvety falls margined the lighter shade of the standards”.

From Linwood Iris Gardens 1936 “extra large handsome flowers of intensely dark, rihly bronzed red violet. A very tall and outstanding iris of exceptional quality. Great vigor, heavy texture with stout well branched stalks. LATE and a heavy bloomer. Recommended. Each .25.”
