From the Stevens Bros. catalog for 1952-53: “A lovely lime yellow with a frosty sheen, the large, perfectly formed flowers of this delightful iris have an individuality whose character is hard to convey in words. The edges of the flared petals have a fine serrated frosting which lends a delicate enchantment to a flower of unusual grace. This variety has created quite a sensation in America as it is the only lime yellow without any green and is really distinct and different.”

From the 1954 Schreiner’s Iris Catalog: “A cool lemon to sulphur yellow, even to the beard. The originator describes it as lime without green. Note the illustration on page 34 which displays its most individual characteristic – the fine notching, or serration, on the petal edge.”
