TB 30″ ML

From Treholme Gardens catalog for 1928: “S. fine bright lemon-yellow; F. mauve and rich red-violet with throat striped and penciled maroon on white. Similar to Prinzess Viktoria Luise, [sic] but smaller and not reliable.”

Note: In the past Romeo, originally classified as a TB, has been found being passed around under the name ‘Peacock’s Eye’ or ‘Pfauenauge’, a DB. Pfauenauge is described in the 1918 catalog of N.A. Hallauer as: “S. Olive gold; F. Plum color with gold border. Very beautiful. 10 in. New.” Should you come across these varieties make sure they are not Romeo in disguise.
Note: Romeo is known as both an IB and a TB. Since the AIS now classifies it as a TB we will go with that Checklist designation.
