From Cornell Extension Bulletin 112, 1925: “Color effect a rose-purple veined self. S. rose-purple, bronzed at base and reticulated brown on yellow claw. F. dull magenta-purple, with lighter outer haft veined brilliant magenta-purple to brownish on inner haft. The beard is fine, dense, projecting, and yellow. The growth is moderately vigorous and the foliage stiff and broad. The stalks are erect, intermediate in height, and well furnished with bloom. The good color mass and the early blooms make this variety worthy of its place among intermediates.”

From The Wing Seed Co. catalog for 1920: “Early flowering with the Germanicas. S. and F. bright violet-rose, the nearest approach to a pink iris.”
