From Schreiner’s Iris Lovers Catalog 1972: “The big feature about this iris is the fact that it is one of the extremely few dark red iris which do not fade or bleach in the sun. Indeed it is exceptionally weather and sun resistant. In tone a rich garnet ruby red with large, full flowers on tall, very branched stems. A vigorous grower.
