From the Wanganui Irises catalog for 1965-66: “In Irises every year there is something new and something exciting to tempt the gardener. And here in this, our first catalogue, we are able to offer another truly new colour combination – a pink and white iris. Lovely standards of a clear white and falls of the smoothest pink have all the charm, freshness, and appeal of a pretty child. Very free-flowering and a thrifty grower, the medium height stems carry many medium sized flowers in perfect balance to make a breathtaking picture. This could be the iris which, when it flowers in your garden, will make you want to ‘phone your friends that they must come and see.”

Derived from pinks crossed to yellow amoenas; then inbred through a number of generations.
